JoeLevine-NPOAward

The Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust (HOST) proudly celebrates the recognition of Joe Levine, Vice President of HOST and founder of Creative Communications and Graphics, Inc., for his nomination as NPO Board Member of the Year by the Non Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey.

Since joining HOST’s board in 2016, Joe has exemplified the spirit of volunteer leadership through extraordinary creativity, professionalism, and unwavering dedication. HOST founder and chair Stuart Harting calls him “the embodiment of the description of this award—an individual who has provided exceptional guidance and leadership as a board member.”

Beyond his vital role with HOST, Joe has serves as the President of the Haddonfield Civic Association, a member of the Haddonfield Foundation Board. He and his wife Lisa have called Haddonfield home since 2007, where they’ve raised their children, Gabriel and Lyla, and contributed deeply to the town’s civic and cultural life.

At the helm of his Audubon-based marketing and branding firm, Creative Communications and Graphics, Joe has led campaigns for both local and national clients, including Law firms, Zallie’s Family Markets, School Districts, Aramark, Lockheed Martin, GEICO, and Sanofi—bringing that same strategic and creative insight to HOST’s mission.

Joe’s leadership has powered some of HOST’s most ambitious projects. He spearheaded an international search for a sculptor to create a new commission funded by a $400,000 bequest from the estate of Haddonfield benefactor Joe Haro, yielding 162 submissions and five outstanding finalists.

Joe also led the two-year effort to commission “The Haddonfield Militiaman”—a tribute to the South Jersey Brigade unveiled in June 2023 at the entrance to the Indian King Tavern. Created by master sculptor Brian Hanlon, the piece was hailed by 08033 Magazine as “an eye-catcher in keeping with Haddonfield’s history.” Joe’s search began with a simple but powerful wish: to honor community figure Joe Murphy and the town’s colonial heritage. Personally, reaching out to 15 sculptors across New Jersey, Joe found the artist who could authentically capture that vision.

Joe’s creative contributions extend far beyond curation and leadership. He designed and maintains HOST’s website, developed an interactive qr code with the Haddonfield Library that allows visitors at the Children’s Sculpture Zoo to “talk” with each of the Zoo’s seven animal sculptures, and crafted countless visual and digital assets that have become part of Haddonfield’s cultural landscape.

HOST founder Stuart Harting summed it up best: “Joe is the heart and soul of this organization. Not only does the dollar value of his professional contributions reach into significant six-figure territory, he keeps coming up with great new ideas—to make us more visible, more interactive, and more successful in reaching out to the South Jersey community. Every NPO board should be so lucky as to have such a truly talented and relentlessly generous trustee as Joe Levine.”

HOST is honored to see Joe’s vision, artistry, and service recognized at the state level—and even more grateful for the creativity and heart he brings to our hometown every day.
