Of Interest

Ballerina welcomes all to town from her perch high atop the traffic Rotary where Haddon Avenue intersects with Ellis and Centre Streets. This life-size, 200- pound bronze beauty by Barry Woods Johnston was inspired by a moment in a Broadway production of “Dance” and seems to defy gravity. She was installed in January 2019 and dedicated during April 2019 Sculpture Month with help from the artist (non-ballerina on right) and local middle and high school dancers from Artists in Motion. Ballerina weighs 200 lbs.
