Renowned Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (FPAFA) are on display at Artwalk in Haddonfield NJ
The artists’ reception, with wine and cheese, is on Saturday, September 21 adjacent to Art Walk at Sparrow’s, 10 Mechanic Street, rain or shine, from 4-7pm. A fully tax-deductible donation of at least $30 per person is requested. The art will be on display through the end of the year.
The latest public art from the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust www.HaddonfieldSculpture.org is now on display on Art Walk and will be honored with an artists’ reception on Saturday, September 21.
Full-color, weatherproof reproductions of 20 pieces by alumni of the renowned Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (FPAFA) are hung, in Parisian style, on wrought-iron fencing on Mechanic Street in the heart of downtown.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is the oldest art school in America. The nonprofit Fellowship was established by the Academy in 1897 and is one of the oldest art alumni organizations in the country. All of the originals can be viewed online at www.fellowshippafa.org and are available for purchase, with ten percent of the purchase price – ranging from $650- $14,400 — donated to HOST to help fund its educational art programs in town.

HOST is the 501(c)3 nonprofit art initiative bringing traditional and contemporary works by noted sculptors to the downtown district, some permanent and some rotating. Several sculptures have been purchased by residents and donated to the Borough of Haddonfield on a permanent basis. Many others are on loan or lease from the artist, and are available for purchase for private or public use. These sculptures constitute an ever-evolving outdoor gallery where they can be enjoyed by all until they find a permanent home. In addition to nearly 20 sculptures located downtown, HOST has previously hosted the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s “Inside/Out” exhibit several times, and each year gives tours to second-graders throughout town, including more than 1,000 students in the past five years. One of its most popular endeavors is the world’s only Children’s Sculpture Zoo, located in the Tatem Memorial Garden on Kings Highway at Evergreen Lane, with life-size bronze sculptures of a giraffe, baby elephant, tiger, gorilla, toad, sea lion and bunny rabbit.
